Original Suzani hand embroideries from Uzbekistan in Central Asia. Suzani means needlepoint in Farsi and Suzanis were originally used as mirror covers (small pieces) and for tent dividers. Usually cotton or velvet background with silk embroidery. Some pieces have old Russian fabric backing and this has been photographed too if it is present. These colourful, decorative textiles make beautiful wall hangings and drapes, bed covers or table covers. More info here (About Central Asian Suzanis).
