Uzbek Suzani embroidery with cream background - a Central Asian textile from Uzbekistan. This authentic decorative needlepoint has been embroidered by hand and measures approximately 147x200cm (4.10 x 6.6½ft) excluding any fringes - we love the light cream background embroidered with carnation flowers and pomegranate fruits in pretty burgundies and green embroidered foliage. Depending on the size, these Suzani textiles make great table covers, bed covers, or can be used over the back of a sofa or as a wall hanging - these decorative textiles offer a wonderful pop of colour for enhancing any interior space.
Suzani means needlepoint in Farsi and the background fabric used in these cream textiles is usually cotton with silk embroidery. They are quite rustic and sometimes pen is used as a marker for layout before embroidery starts and occasionally one can see some of the original pen outline which is normal for these pieces.
