Fine hand-woven rare silk vintage Persian flat weave kilim from the Senneh village (also known as Sanandaj) in the Kurdish region of North West Persia. This fine Senneh rug measures approx 136x193cm (4.5½ x 6.4ft) excluding any fringes - this is a very out of the ordinary rug, we have never come across one before, its made entirely of silk so has a lovely heavy floppy feel to it. There is a long history of carpets being woven in this area. These authentic rugs are easily recognisable as they have sophisticated and intricate designs normally with a central medallion pattern - they are usually wool on cotton and very rarely silk.
