These lightweight traditional towels are very versatile, they are much lighter than a normal towel and are nice and compact and good for travel. We buy these towels directly from the manufacturers near Denizli in the West of Turkey, they are hand-loomed by women using shuttle looms. These durable textiles are also known as Peshtemal, Hammam or Hamam Towels. For hundreds of years the Ottomans have used these towels whilst bathing in the Turkish Baths.
You can wash your Turkish Hammam Towel in the washing machine up to 40 degrees and they can be ironed on a medium heat although it’s not necessary to iron them. Once they have been washed at least one time, they become very absorbent, and they get softer the more they are washed. Our Hammam Towels from Turkey are made from 100% pure cotton.
