Vintage Turkish kilim floor cushion from Konya - originally a family village storage sack but they make great strong floor cushions. This woolly carpet cushion from Turkey is woven thick in a wool pile on the front and hand-woven flat kilim weave technique on the reverse and it measures approximately 38x85cm (1.3 x 2.9½ft) - we love the cosy thick weave and colourful stripes on the kilim reverse. Konya is the ancient capital of Seljuk Empire and is situated on the great trade route expanding from China to Constantinople and is famous for its rugs, kilims and cushions which make great, functional, and decorative interior floor coverings and accessories. Some of the oldest surviving examples of Anatolian Turkish Kilims are from this area and the designs are very diverse in that many villages used to weave and would have had their own unique patterns. 

If you purchase this item unstuffed you will need to sew it up to close it as it is an original piece, and the weavers generally don't use zips! If you would like your cushion stuffed, please purchase the recommended sized filler by ticking the box next to the cushion to add the filler to your basket, we will then sew it up ready for you.

(If the recommend filler has a Hollow Fibre Size 1, 2, 3 or 4 descriptions (HF1, HF2, HF3, HF4) then it means we use a hollow fibre duvet in whatever size fills the cushion, you can also use your own and sew the cushion up yourself after).
