Vintage tribal Afghan Baluchi mixed kilim and carpet weave saddlebag from Afghanistan. Originally used for storage and also during tribal migration, however today they make great storage pouches either over a chair or on the wall, they also make lovely wall hangings. This Afghan saddlebag measures approximately 51x112cm excluding any tassels - we love the earthy colours and bands of pile carpet weave and fine decorative kilim weave in this nomadic trapping. Saddlebags feature two kilim or carpet pouches and can vary in size from small like this one to very large sizes - the large sizes would be the ones used over animals for transporting items.
