Gorgeous Antique Turkish Konya Kavak Rug from Konya in Central Anatolia.
Hand-woven using 100% wool.
Konya is the ancient capital of Seljuk Empire and is situated on the great trade route expanding from China to Constantinople and is famous for its Carpets, Rugs and Kilims.
This Rug from Turkey measures approx 114cm x 179cm
Some of the oldest surviving examples of Turkish Carpets and Kilims are from this area.
Rugs and Kilims from the Konya region are very diverse in that many villages weave and would have their own unique designs.
