Large Afghan Yakash Kazak carpet made by Afghan Hazara Weavers in Northern Afghanistan. This Afghan rug measures approximately 208x301cm (6.9½ x 9.10½ft) excluding any fringes – we love the stunning unusual greeny grey colours together with the motifs and symbols in this large rug, especially the scorpions! These rugs feature designs reminiscent of our high-quality "Super" Kazak rugs and offer a cost-effective alternative to their premium counterparts without compromising decorative functionality. Our Yakash rugs are newly made, they are hand-knotted with a wool pile. The designs are Caucasian in origin having first been produced by Armenian weavers in the 1800’s. Patterns have been passed down through the generations. For information on our Rug Underlays look here.
