Corum is on an ancient trade route in northern Anatolia populated by Turkic Yoruks who lead a semi-nomadic way of life moving between summer and winter pastures where they set up their encampments (Yayla). Corum was renowned for producing rugs in bright red, blue yellow, brown, green and blacks. Not many rugs are made in this region anymore unfortunately.
