Cal is a small town north-east of Denizli known for weaving both flat-woven and pile knotted rugs although not many rugs are now made in this area. Rugs from the Cal region are quite unusual and have interesting geometric patterns and colours such as burnt orange, terracottas and blues. Cal Rugs have their own unusual designs, commonly having a central medallion on a fairly open ground but there can be exceptions to this. For information on our Rug Underlays look here.
