12237 Afghan Small Baluch Vintage Rug 44x61cm (1.5 x 2ft)

A small hand-knotted nomadic vintage Baluch rug from Herat environs of West Afghanistan. Tribal Baluch rugs come in many designs and styles however they often have richer colours such as reds and terracottas, blues, blacks and occasionally greens and other colours. This traditional Afghan rug measures approximately 44x61cm (1.5 x 2ft) - we love the quirky bright highlights of turquoise and pink together with the warm browns and beige colours. For more info on rug motifs and symbols look here.

These rugs are also known as Beluch, Balouch, Belouch, Baluchi, Belouchi.  The designs are geometric but sometimes the prayer niche (Mihrab) or tree of life design can be found.  This is a semi antique small authentic tribal rug woven on a simple wooden portable ground loom.  Find out more about our Rug Underlays Here.
