Fine traditional Afghan wool Khal Mohammedi Rug. These hand-knotted Afghan rugs are woven using richly dyed terracotta wools and generally woven in the Kunduz region of Northern Afghanistan. This newly made Khal Mohammedi Carpet measures approx 180x246cm (5.10½ x 8.1ft) - this piece is lovely quality and has more out of the ordinary colours, the blue is subtle but stunning alongside the terracotta. 

These rugs were originally developed by a man named Khal Mohammad who was an expert at producing finely woven, high quality rugs with very good and beautiful natural red and terracotta dyes, they are still made today and are very popular due to the rich autumnal colouring. 100% hand made with a wool pile; the fringes (warp) are normally grey wool or grey or off white cotton.
