11785 Vintage Turkish Isparta Kilim Runner Rug 78x173cm (2.6½ x 5.8ft)

Authentic village made Turkish and-woven Kilim runner rug from Isparta which is in the the Antalya region of Southern Turkey - hand-woven in the flat slit weave technique. A fabulous long and narrow rug perfect for a narrow space, hallway or corridor. Although this runner is woven in 99% wool the bright colours in some of the motifs are woven in bright coloured cotton - this gives a completely different look in that cotton stays bright and doesn't soften down over time so that's why the bright detail is still so bright! This traditional kilim runner from Turkey is a nomadic semi-antique piece and measures approximately 78x173cm (2.6½ x 5.8ft) excluding any fringes - we love the quirky motifs and symbols and unusual colours in this unique hallway rug. See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

This region is renowned for its excellent kilim weaving traditions.  Wool kilims from this region use fine, hand-spun wool and the colours are likely to have soft terracotta's, ochre's and burnt oranges but generally softer colour ways with geometric designs.
