11733 Fine Afghan Khal Mohammedi Runner Rug 66x142cm (2.2 x 4.8ft)

Traditional Khal Mohammedi Afghan runner rug for a corridor, hallway or narrow space - a beautiful finely woven rug with lovely warm colours. These long hand-knotted Afghan Runners are woven using terracotta red toned dyes and generally woven in the Kunduz region of Northern Afghanistan. Newly made, this narrow Afghan Runner Rug measures approx 66x142cm (2.2 x 4.8ft) excluding any tassels - this runner is slightly wider than others that are this length, it had a lovely warm colour way.  Note: this piece has a slight mark on one of the kilim ends, see it on  the last image.  See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

Khal Mohammadi rugs were originally developed by a man named Khal Mohammad who was an expert at producing finely woven, high quality rugs with very good and beautiful natural deep toned dyes, they are still made today and are very popular due to the rich autumnal colouring. 100% hand made with a wool pile; the fringes (warp) are normally grey wool or occasionally grey or off white cotton.
