These hand-knotted Afghan rugs are woven using rich dyed terracotta red wools and generally woven in the Kunduz region of Northern Afghanistan. This newly made Khal Mohammedi Carpet measures approx 152x196cm (4.11½ x 6.5ft) excluding any fringes - we love the intricate pattern and deep warm colours in this fine rug. Khal Mohammedi rugs are also known as Khal or Khan Mohammadi and were originally developed by a man named Khal Mohammad who was an expert at producing finely woven, high quality rugs with very good and beautiful natural red and terracotta dyes, they are still made today and are very popular due to the rich autumnal colouring. 100% hand made with a wool pile; the fringes (warp) are normally grey wool or grey or off white cotton.
