A stunning floral Ersari wool Rug which has been handwoven by Afghan weavers using stunning colours and good quality wool. The original Ersari rugs were woven by nomadic people for their own use either throughout Uzbekistan or Turkmenistan in Central Asia. These new versions mostly use designs taken from the classic patterns used by these tribes. Many Ersari Turkoman tribespeople began to settle in Northern Afghanistan from the 17th Century, they brought with them their weaving skills and rug designs which we now see today in many of the Afghan Ersari weavings.
