Vintage Turkish floor cushion from Sivas - originally a family village storage sack but they make great large floor cushions. This Turkish floor cushion is hand-woven using flatweave cicim kilim technique on the front and plain kilim weave on the reverse. This original semi antique Turkish pillow measures approximately 55x118cm (1.9½ x 3.10½ft) - we rarely find these anymore - we love the colourful pattern, the reverse has lots of cicim embellished motifs and symbols. Sivas (Central Anatolia) is a place of great historical importance on the silk route where a mix of people, Kurdish, Turkish and Armenian have lived for centuries. Anatolian Sivas Rugs and Cushions are some of the oldest and have a similarity to those of the nearby Malatya region with varied small filler motifs and bold colours such as reds and greens, blacks and oranges.
If you purchase this item unstuffed you will need to sew it up to close it as it is an original piece and the tribes people don't use zips! If you would like your cushion stuffed, please purchase the recommended sized filler by ticking the box next to the cushion to add the filler to your basket, we will then sew it up ready for you.
(If the recommend filler has a Hollow Fibre Size 1, 2, 3 or 4 description (HF1, HF2, HF3, HF4) then it means we use a hollow fibre duvets in whatever size fills the cushion, you can also use your own and sew the cushion up yourself after).
Note: we do not ship some of the larger fillers outside the UK Mainland, this is to keep postage costs to a minimum.
