Traditional village made Turkish Kilim Rug from the environs of a town called Esme, in Turkey's Western Usak Province - this piece is woven in the flat slit-weave technique and features a prayer niche design with a tree of life design, it has a very intricate and detailed pattern, the weaver has put a lot of work into this rug, we love the rich green colour surrounding the central niche. This unique Kelim rug from Turkey is an authentic semi-antique piece ie c.1960s and measures approx 127cm wide by 149cm long - woven in wool.
The Usak region of Turkey has been famous for many years for its folk art kilim weaving traditions and they still make new rugs in this region.
