These unusual floral vintage Turkish Bardizi kilim rugs are from Erzurum in Eastern Anatolia. They usually feature floral patterns in earthy browns, blacks, soft pinks and beiges but can occasionally be found in very quirky abstract designs in very bright colours. This unique Kelim rug from Turkey is an authentic semi-antique piece and it measures approximately 177x285cm (5.9½ x 9.4ft) excluding any fringes - we love the soft colours interspersed with indigos, ochres and pinks together with the very attractive floral border - it's like a work of art! These flatweaves are woven mostly in wool and sometimes have highlighted elements in cotton. They are woven in the traditional flat slit-weave technique and have a similar feel to Caucasian Karabagh kilims (Karabagh means black orchard). For information on our underlays for rugs look here.
