Handmade Afghan Rug (Moshwani) mixed weave rug. A newly made, great value rug from Afghanistan which measures approximately 147x181cm (4.10 x 5.11ft) excluding any tassels - we love the softer colour way in this wool rug.  See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

These original Afghan Rugs are traditionally made by Moshwani weavers who are a sub-tribe of the Baluchi tribal group who would migrate through the regions of West Afghanistan. Nomadic Rugs such as these have multiple weaving techniques/textures in that the background is made with hand-woven weft wrapping soumak kilim weave and other areas are made from a hand knotted wool pile in geometric designs. 100% wool on wool.
