Rustic oriental Persian hand-knotted Khamseh Rug from the Hamadan region - a genuine rug which is handmade and hand-knotted in wool. These rugs are usually woven with hand spun wool pile with cotton warps giving a good strong and robust rug that will last for many years. This traditional vintage Khamseh Hamadan Rug measures approximately 128x194cm (4.2½ x 6.4½ft) excluding any tassels - this piece is very interesting, it has an out of the ordinary border pattern and beautiful warm reds together with a very dark almost black navy blue central background. These authentic Persian carpets come from the villages within the greater Hamadan area of north west Persia and typically have geometric designs but occasionally will have an all over pattern.
