Yahyali is a village within the Kayseri region of Central Anatolia and rugs and carpets from Yahyali are generally finely woven. Kayseri is renowned for its major trade links as it is situated on the old the silk road - it has a fantastic bazaar and caravanserai where people have traded since 1500AD.  It was famous for its carpet and kilim weaving in the past, it is still however famous for it spicy dried cured beef “pastirma” and also the tasty “mantı” which is a meat filled dumpling!
