Product Information

An authentic large vintage Turkish Eregli hand-knotted wool pile rug from the Eregli village which is within the Konya region of Turkey. Traditionally Rugs from the Konya region come in a wide range of designs. This original vintage pile rug from Turkey measures approximately 183x290cm (6 x 9.6ft) excluding any tassels - this is a large rug with the most stunning soft colour palette, beautiful soft pinks and golds and cream - we love this piece. This rug is an old piece so it isn't thick, so we would recommend some of our underlay. Find out about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

Konya is the ancient capital of Seljuk Empire and is situated on the great trade route expanding from China to Constantinople and is famous for its Rugs and Kilims which make great, functional, and decorative interior floor coverings. Some of the oldest surviving examples of Anatolian Turkish Kilims are from this area and the designs are very diverse in that many villages used to weave and would have had their own unique patterns.
