These small elegant and decorative handmade Afghan runner Rugs are known as Ziegler, Zeigler, Chobi, Garous or as Sultanabad.  Zeigler refers to the design rather than the people that weave these hand knotted rugs and carpets. These types of rugs are re-creations of antique Oriental designs and they use wools with attractive colours and tones. Designs can be antique looking all over designs in either floral or geometric patterns. 100% hand-woven by Afghan people with soft hand spun wool pile - the wool used in these rugs is often good quality, although it can vary with chinese and indian reproductions; our Afghan Ziegler's have gorgeous soft wool quality.
