Large authentic and unique vintage Turkish wool Kilim (Kelim) rug from Fethiye being in the Mediterranean region of southern Turkey. Flat woven using kilim flat-weave with elements of cicim weave (weft wrapping technique); generally good quality wool is used in these Kilims. This original vintage hand-woven Kilim rug from Turkey measures approximately 147x233cm (4.10 x 7.7½ft) excluding any tassels - we love the very pretty soft stripe design which is alternated with emblems and motifs together with the soft browns, ochres and orange colours. See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.

Fethiye is in the southern part of Turkey where the Yoruk nomads would migrate between summer and winter pastures.  It is also now a popular tourist resort and is famous for its ancient Lycian ruins.
