This piece was woven in the environs of a town called Denizli, in Turkey's Western Usak Province. Denizli is a City in the high country between the Aegean and Mediterranean regions of western of Turkey - these Kilims are woven by Turkmen Yoruk tribes - the descendants of the Turkic tribes that settled in Anatolia hundreds of years ago.  Apart from Kilim weaving, Denizli is also famous for its Hammam towel production.
