Hand-knotted Authentic Baluch Rug from Herat environs of West Afghanistan.  These rugs are also known as Beluch, Balouch, Belouch, Baluchi, Belouchi.  Baluch rugs come in many types however they often have richer colours such as reds and terracottas, blues, blacks and occasionally greens and other colours.  This traditional Afghan rug measures approximately 88x142cm (2.10½ x 4.8ft) - we love the bold blues and reds in this rug together with the central medallion design. These rustic rugs are often a little wonky in nature so please don't expect perfection - in our view it's part of their charm! 

Usually these rugs are small to medium in size and are 100% handmade in wool.  The designs are geometric but sometimes the prayer niche (Mihrab) or tree of life design can be found.  See more about Rug Motifs, Symbols & Meaning here.
