Hand-knotted Oriental Persian Mashad Baluch Rug - these Baluchi Rugs are woven in the villages in the eastern Baluchistan region of North East Persia bordering with West Afghanistan.  This piece measures approximately 149x263cm (4.10½ x 8.7½ft) - we love the warm reds and repeating all over design on this piece - it has lovely wool quality too.

These are traditional rugs with geometric motifs occasionally having fine detailed kilim ends - generally these rugs tend to be handwoven in small and medium sizes only, with the rare exception of bigger pieces.  Normally wool pile on wool warps and wefts using good quality wool, these classic traditional rugs are finely woven and typically have rich reds, terracottas, creams, chocolates and burnt orange colour ways.  These rugs are also known as Beluch, Balouch, Belouch, Baluchi, Belouchi.
