This original hand-woven colourful Turkish Selendi Runner is a great shape for a hallway being long and narrow. This handwoven rug is an authentic village made rug and it has some age - it's a vintage piece made circa 1960/1970 ish. Would be great in a corridor or hallway. This piece measures approx 66x261cm (2.2 x 8.6½ft) and we love the pale washed out understated colour and design.
Selendi is a town and district of Manisa Province in the Aegean region of Turkey in the West. Selendi Kilims usually incorporate a stripe (mostly in runners) or a geometric square design using a weaving technique known as zilli or cicim which is where the flat weave kilim is then over embroidered.
