10128 Large Afghan Moshwani Rug 205x279cm (6.8½ x 9.1½ft)

Authentic Afghan Rug (Moshwani).  These Afghan Rugs are traditionally made by Moshwani weavers who are a sub-tribe of the Baluchi tribal group who would migrate through the regions of West Afghanistan.  A newly made, great value original rug from Afghanistan which measures approximately 205x279cm (6.8½ x 9.1½ft) - we love the central multiple diamond pattern in this rug together with the very unusual colour-way, normally these rugs are mostly red and don't have such a variety of colours.

Nomadic Rugs such as these have multiple weaving techniques/textures in that the background is made with hand-woven weft wrapping soumak kilim weave and other areas are made from a hand knotted wool pile in geometric designs. 100% wool on wool in rich burgundies/reds/terracottas.
