Tribal Afghan Baluch carpet cushion cover - this authentic tribal pillow cover has hand knotted carpet pile on the front and flat-weave kilim on the reverse in 100% wool. This rustic living room cushion measures approximately 42x42cm (1.4½ x 1.4½ft) excluding any tassels - we love the gorgeous reds in this cushion together with he intricate detail on the striped reverse.  Perfect as an Afghan scatter or throw pillow for chairs and sofas. These were originally handmade storage bags used during the Baluchi tribal migration throughout Afghanistan as well as for general storage purposes - they are semi antique with lots of character and are very hard wearing. Please note that as these cushions (in some cases), are old pieces they are very rustic, and occasionally have  repairs and small holes, so please don't expect perfection! This tribal group from Afghanistan are also known as Beluch, Balouch, Belouch, Baluchi and Belouchi.

If you purchase this item unstuffed you will need to sew it up to close it as it is an original piece and the tribes people don't use zips!
