Measuring
up for a rug
As
rugs and carpets come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, when measuring your
space it might be helpful to bear the following in mind:
It
is possible that you may see a rug you particularly like but it is, for
example, a foot longer than you have originally measured. However, if you have measured your
maximum width/length and minimum width/length you will know the absolute
boundaries you can go to, or need to stay within, in both directions.
An
example is shown in the diagram, giving measurements of:
Min
width 4ft and max width 5ft
Min
length 6ft and max length 8ft
This means if you can’t find your exact size you
might consider a rug measuring 4.6 x 7ft for example.
